Lead Consultant – Inclusion & Equity
Edinburgh, Paisley or West Lothian, Hybrid
18 Months FTC
Salary circa £44,000 - £48,000 DOE
 
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) professional for a new, impactful role.
 
In this newly created position as the Lead Consultant – Inclusion & Equity, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to improve workplace accessibility, representation, and inclusive practices within the organisation. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference and help shape the future of DE&I in the charity.
 
The main office is in Edinburgh, with additional sites in Paisley and West Lothian. A 9-day fortnight working pattern is available, with a minimum of two days a week on-site when required.
 
Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an individual with significant experience in leading DE&I initiatives and experience helping organisations build the foundations, frameworks, and strategies to a mature place within the equity and inclusion space, ideally with experience and a focus on disability. The role requires someone with an infectious energy who can inspire and engage others, create meaningful change, and work across various teams.
 
You should have:
 
  • DE&I Expertise: Proven experience developing and implementing successful DE&I frameworks from infancy to maturity whilst managing projects or programmes to deliver sustainable and tangible outcomes.
  • Leadership & Engagement: Ability to inspire and engage people at all levels, fostering a culture of trust and enthusiasm for inclusion.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working across teams to embed inclusive practices and drive ownership of DE&I initiatives.
  • Data-driven Decision Making: Ability to use data to assess progress and create actionable plans.
  • Strategic Thinking: Comfortable working with senior leaders to enable and challenge organisational transformation.
  • Training and Presentation Skills: Experience delivering workshops, training sessions, or group discussions to build awareness and skills related to equity and inclusion 
 
Desirable Experience
  • Sector Experience: Experience in the not-for-profit or charitable sector, with a solid understanding of working with volunteers.
  • Community Collaboration: Experience working alongside diverse communities, particularly in Scotland, to co-create meaningful initiatives.
